A Connecticut-based Accounting Firm Offering Services to Small and Medium Corporates.

Challenges:

The client had a tough time in keeping track of their profitability of each and every client accounts. The client reached out to Velan for a solution. They were facing the following challenges in generating the profitability reports:

• Management Reporting Dashboard was based on Excel where the size of the file was becoming too difficult to work with.
• The reports were limited and adequate information not available for decision-making as the Practice Manager is proprietary in nature.
• Unable to build custom reports as there was no direct access to Practice Manager.
• The process of creating reports manually was tedious and time-consuming

Solutions:

• Velan BI team worked with the client’s challenges, applied best practices and provided solutions.
• Design and developed a tool to extract the data from the Practice Manager and export it to Azure SQL database for reporting.
• Automation scripts were deployed to export data from Practice Manager to Azure SQL.
• Created the reports and customized them further based on the customer requirement in Power BI

Outcome:

• Reports are available in the cloud and can be accessed from anywhere.
• Real-time reporting, Reports are available with a single click.
• Time to create and distribute the reports reduced by 95%.
• The management team has better insight into the data thereby enabling them to monitor and take quicker decisions.
